No Sadly this is not about me jumping on a last minute flight to somewhere sunny, instead I’m trying to make the most of the sunshine in East Lothian! I woke up on Thursday morning to a frozen lawn but the most blinding sunlight streaming in through the windows; I just had to grab my camera, wrap up warm, and head out to North Berwick. Its absolutely gorgeous in the winter sun. The seaside town blocks out the sunlight creating long shadows towards the beach and harbour.
I had no other objective than to get a bit of fresh air and take a few snaps, a couple of which you will have already seen if you follow me on instagram. But I thought I’d share them with you here too; a little more editing goes into the insta shots so these are a more accurate representation of what the day was actually like.
Walking along Forth street, you catch glimpses out over the harbour and the Forth. Take a left down Victoria road where you will find all the cute cottages and painted houses that North Berwick is known for and at the end you reach the Harbour and the Old Pier.
I really don’t think there’s a more beautiful place in East Lothian than North Berwick on a sunny day. However I wouldn’t recommend hanging around for too long as it can get pretty chilly! So by all means enjoy the views but start to make your way back to the high street, pick out a little coffee shop and heat up a little.
In case you don’t know my favourite coffee spot is Steampunk, if I’m heading there I usually take my laptop and plan to stay for a few hours to get some work done.
What about you guys? Any favourite coffee spots in North Berwick? I really should go somewhere else for a change. But what can I say, when I find something I like I tend to stick with it.
